Mission
The Hedda Sterne Foundation is dedicated to exploring the legacy of the artist Hedda Sterne (1910-2011) and her philosophy of art as a process of engagement and discovery. Established by the artist and endowed by her estate, the Foundation maintains a collection of artwork and an archive spanning eight decades. With these collections, the Foundation promotes the study of Sterne in the context of her era through the support of exhibitions and scholarship. The Foundation also pays tribute to Sterne’s intellectual curiosity and generosity of spirit through its support of individual artists across the spectrum of creativity.
